The Megan Fox diet (like most women’s diets) has changed over the years, and her body has changed with it as well. Today, she sports arguably the most envied and sought-after physique in Hollywood, having been voted the “Sexiest Woman Alive” by FHM readers. I know, you’re totally shocked, right??
So what is the Megan Fox diet that keeps her lean and ridiculously gorgeous year-round? Well, it depends…
Megan didn’t really watch her diet until she appeared in Hollwood and launched her acting career. Like most kids who can combat the bulge with growth spurts and activity, she didn’t really have to worry about what she ate. When she started seriously pursuing her acting career though, she…like every Hollywood star…had to take her body to the next level.
Beginning around late 2009, the Megan Fox diet was characterized as a pretty strict vegan follower. For those that don’t know what the heck a vegan is, a vegan is someone who avoids all animal products (things like the obvious meat and fish, but also the not so obvious eggs, dairy, and even honey). In an interview in 2011, Megan stated: “For a year and a half, until about four months ago, I followed a strict vegan diet based on raw fruits and vegetables, no bread, sugar and coffee. But I had lost too much weight. So now I eat a bit of everything. And I train three times a week doing circuit training with my trainer Harley Pasternak.”
Kind of makes you hate her, right? Harley Pasternak is a very well-known celebrity trainer and is famed for his book and training philosophy of The Five Factors. He wrote a book where he details this philosophy called The 5 Factor Diet and The 5-Factor Fitness (check out the Megan Fox workout here). In an interview with Starlounge UK, Pasternak is quoted saying: “She follows the 5-Factor diet which is to eat five small meals a day which include the five dietary factors including healthy fats, lean protein, fiber and a non-sugar drink.”
The Megan Fox diet is also well-known to be the paleo diet, which is focused around eating clean, whole foods that our ancestors would have eaten. This way of eating does fall in line with Pasternak’s diet as well. The goal of the paleo diet is that if you eat the foods you were designed to eat, your body will become the way it was designed to be…lean. Personally, this is the way I eat and the way I counsel my clients to eat as well. This diet focuses on eating quality protein (free range, organic, and grassfed when possible), vegetables, healthy fats, fruit, and nuts and seeds. This means omitting grains, sugar, dairy, and highly processed foods.
I have yet to have a client adopt this way of eating without losing weight. For me, it has kept the 60 pounds I lost off for over 8 years. If you want to learn more about the paleo diet, and the role that hormones play in your diet (which is corrected through the paleo diet), check out this video:
The truth is, Megan has her temptations just like the rest of us. She doesn’t have superhuman willpower…in fact, she confesses to being incredibly “lazy.” On those occasions when she does overindulge, she does a one-day detox of raw apple cider vinegar, which is very well known for its’ restorative components and its rich supple of vitamins, minerals, and enzymes. What is an apple cider vinegar detox? In an interview, Megan explains: “It’s just water and raw apple cider vinegar, and it just cleans out your system totally. I’m not one for dieting or exercising ’cause I’m lazy and I have a really big sweet tooth, so I have to do cleanses every once in a while.”
Eastern medicine throughout history demonstrates that raw apple cider vinegar boosts blood circulation and helps to detoxify your liver.
If you’re going to do a detox day, make sure it is just that…one day. Going longer than this on zero calories is not recommended for weight loss or health. Also – make sure you purchase a bottle that says the following on it: unprocessed, unfiltered, with the mother, and raw. Otherwise you are wasting your time on a cheap imitation.
Let’s be honest…you’re here because you want to know how to get a body like Megan Fox. Yeah, okay we want to be healthy and take care of our bodies, but the truth is if you’re here, you’re probably not satisfied with how you look. In my experience, a few extra pounds (or a lot of extra pounds) on a woman can absolutely ruin her day, her week, and her life. While I encourage you to deal with the emotional side of weight loss and gain (you’ll never be satisfied with your appearance until you do…even if you look like Megan Fox), I will show you here how to get a body like Megan Fox, so you can shed those pounds and walk in confidence!
To continue to be real with you, there’s absolutely nothing special about the Megan Fox workout. As you can see on this page, she does mainly body weight circuits with some cardio. This is pretty much the standard routine that any personal trainer will give you. She herself admits that fitness is not a big part of her life. “I’m very lazy. I hire a personal trainer who is supposed to come three times a week. He comes to me – I don’t even have to leave the house. He’ll come to my house and I’ll be lying in the exact same spot he left me in. I’ll be like: ‘Not today! Not today!’ So, for me to do these scenes [in Transformers] was hard but fun.”
What sets her apart from anyone else at the gym is her diet. If you want to look like Megan Fox, this is where the rubber meets the road. As someone who has been in this industry for over a decade, believe me that the secret to a thin body is 90% diet, 10% exercise. You simply cannot out-exercise poor nutrition, no matter how many hours you put in at the gym.
Fox reportedly follows the Paleo diet, which is rapidly becoming a favorite amongst male and female celebrities alike. This is the diet I follow myself and I can attest to its effectiveness. The diet doesn’t come with rules of calorie counting or weighing and measuring, it simply comes with a list of foods to enjoy every day and foods to enjoy on a special occasion (a.k.a. – RARELY!). So if you want to know how to look like Megan Fox, you’ve got to know how to eat like Megan Fox. Foods allowed on the paleo diet are: meats, fish, eggs, healthy fats/oils, vegetables, limited nuts and seeds (I recommend up to 1/4 cup per day for women and 1/3 cup per day for men trying to lose weight), and limited fruit (I recommend 1 fruit per day if you’re trying to lose weight).
Yes, this means omitting grains, dairy, sugar, beans/legumes, soy, processed foods, and basically all high-allergen foods. The rationale behind this is that if you remove the foods most people are allergic to and not equipped to digest, you free the body up to perform at its very best and (in turn) you free the body up to shed unwanted pounds. Megan Fox Weight: A lot of people think that if they just know a celebrity’s weight and then they lose/gain enough to achieve that weight, then they will look like that celebrity. WRONG! Honestly, there are so many other things play into a person’s weight. You can’t expect a body like Megan Fox if you don’t take other things into consideration. To do this, I’m going to teach you a few tools that will help you better gauge an appropriate weight for you in comparison to a Megan Fox weight.
To do this, we’ll first get an idea as to the different Megan Fox measurements, see where they are in relation to her height and weight, and then we’ll compare your own numbers to determine where you would like to be and to determine an appropriate weight goal for your body, height, body frame, etc.
BMI: BMI stands for Body Mass Index, and analyzes your weight in accordance with your height. While it isn’t the best process to estimate overall health (I definitely have a preference for utilizing body fat percentage, although that takes more work), BMI is rather simple to calculate and doesn’t involve anything but a measuring tape and a scale. To find your B.M.I., input your numbers into the following equation:
BMI = (weight in pounds X 703) ÷ (height in inches)²
Megan Fox Weight and Height: The Megan Fox weight is reportedly 110 lbs. with a height of 5’6″. So let’s do this formula for her:
(110 X 703) ÷ (66)² = 17.75
This gives her a BMI of 17.75, and that is essentially labeled as “underweight.” Below is a table that you can utilize to observe where your numbers fall on the healthy/unhealthy spectrum:
Considering it doesn’t regard your body frame, the BMI formula can be slightly deceiving. I prefer to use the following method to identify a more precise ideal weight for my clients:
BODY FRAME METHOD: In order to figure out your body frame size, wrap your right middle index finger and thumb around your left wrist. If your finger tips are overlapping, your body frame is considered small. If your fingers touch but don’t overlap, your body frame is considered medium. If your finger tips nearly touch or have a significant gap between them, you have a large body frame. As soon as that is determined, compare to the table below:
Megan has a small body frame, so she would again be classified as “underweight” for her body frame. Keep in mind though: These Megan Fox measurements reflect her on-screen appearances which differ from her day-to-day life. Typically, celebrities lose between 10-15 pounds for their roles and then regain the weight to a more manageable place when they are off screen. The Megan Fox weight loss would hover around this 10 pound mark for a film. I call this being within “striking distance” of your ‘special event’ weight. For women, I recommend staying 10 pounds above from where you want to be for a special event. Then 1-2 months out, diet and exercise hard in order to achieve that look for a wedding or trip, etc. This makes like a lot more manageable and let’s face it…more fun too! You will always look great, and will look phenomenal for those special events.

The Paleo diet has been around well, ever since man has! In longhand, it is called the Paleolithic diet and focuses on what our hunter-gatherer ancestors ate and thrived on! The basic premises of the diet are to eliminate fat storing foods (processed foods, chemicals, sugar, and grains) and focus on eating your fill of fat-burning foods (grass-fed meats, vegetables, fats, and limited fruits, nuts, and seeds). There is no calorie-counting, no weighing of foods, and no logging of intake. It simply focuses on eating whole foods, in their natural state.
This diet is how Megan Fox stays lean year round (with a few tweaks that I will soon be posting). It is also how I personally have lost (and kept off!) 60 pounds over the past seven years! A fact I’m kinda proud of! :) So, if you want to know how to get a body like Megan Fox, you need to know what the Megan Fox diet is. And now you do! I hope this proves as useful a tool for you as it has for me! Check back soon for more great tips, methods, and resources on the Megan Fox diet!
